Well, this is it. The last little baby Ireland post.

Wes and I just wanted to take a minute and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks for supporting us, following us, loving us. We are so thrilled to share our lives with you. As interesting, or boring as it can be sometimes. We loving having a community of people who take part. You are who celebrates with us. And who we look to pray for us at times. We thank you for being there.

Our prayer is that our love will infect your heart and make you love even deeper and harder than you did before. I pray that we inspire you in the same way you inspire us. You keep us challenged to do something new, and to be real. So we challenge you to love deep.

Here we are on our very last day in Ireland. Our tiny adventure. Thanks for sharing in it.

Today we are back in the office and literally couldn’t be happier. Today is my ideal day. Wake up early, work out, have breakfast, meet with a bride, edit wedding goodness. LOVE LOVE. Weddings are coming. I am so excited to share them with you.

Be Happy and Love each other.

This day was amazing. Truly.

I think this is a great blog post to explain some things.

Sometimes people question Wes and I about why we travel. What is it? Well, we love the adventure, the scenery, the new experience. But for us, it is so much more than that.

It is renewal. It reenergizes us… helps us get focused on what we love in life & keeps our love fresh. We work together/play together/live together. Separating work and home is almost impossible for us. We live in this thing we refer to as the 24/7 relationship. And sometimes (typically once a year) we need to get away from it all. Away from the distractions, the constant feeling of having something to do, the stress of being self employed sometimes brings.

So this is what we do. We travel. We see. We love. We focus all of our energy on each other (and once a week edit/blog ;) This keeps us loving every aspect of our life. We LOVE everything we do! We also brainstorm. What is next for us? Armosa? We are so excited to be surrounded by these beautiful new things while thinking how we can improve what we do for our couples. It makes us so much better!

I love knowing that I cannot wait to get home this weekend and shoot a wedding. Seriously. I cannot wait for it. And this is a nice feeling to feel.

I guess I chose this blog, because this day represented just that for us. Walking in the most beautiful park, holding hands, taking a boat ride together, talking about the future… Just loving each other wholly.

Hope you enjoy.

I know every couple is different. How do you keep your love alive without letting the stress of the world affect it? Do you do anything? Do something! Even if it is just surprising the person you love with something small, something unexpected. These actions keep us going. I wanna know! What keeps you going?

Be Happy and Love each other!

To be honest, there isn’t a whole ton to say about Cork. This is the first day that it rained, which we are so blessed for. Typically it is overcast/rainy most days. We have seen lots of sun, which we are so thankful for. As soon as the sun goes behind a cloud it is immediately cold & windy. Sun is good ;)

While we were in Cork we traveled to Cohb. These photos are from there, it was a cute little community. It is also the last stop of the Titanic. It is kind of sad, all of the businesses around the falling apart, docks are shut down… it seems they sunk with the ship.

But here are the photos of the port city. Enjoy!

Tomorrow is the Dingle Peninsula! Some of the most beautiful views we saw!

  • Kathleen: Tera, Cork is where my great grandparents are from. I've never seen photos, so this was really special to me until I make it there one day. Thank you for sharing. These images are stunning. xo. 10.14.2011 09:19pm

When planning our trip, one word we kept hearing over and over again was Dingle. Everyone said, “Are you going to Dingle?” And I can see why. This was the perfect day trip from Killarney, and such a romantic drive. It felt like I was driving up Highway 1, but better.

We parked & hiked & went & felt the sand between our toes.

Enjoy these view. And if you plan your trip to Ireland, put this place on your map for sure!

  • Linley: :) I loved looking at the sheep as we drove from place to place. And that sunset...wow! 09.03.2011 07:39pm

I’ll be honest, when planning my trip to Ireland, Waterford really isn’t even on my map… but when my mother, who in my opinion is the epitome of class, asks when we will go and visit it, I know I must make it on the itinerary.

My mom is seriously the classiest woman I know. She is in my top 2 favorite humans & everything I want to be. Little did I know that the shiny jars I grab my starbust jelly beans out of every time I go to visit is Waterford Crystal. Part of her collection. Something she did before she had… kids ;) (But she does also say that we are better ;) I think next time I reach my hand in the jar, I will pull it out a little slower. And I will never borrow her punch bowl for a shower again. Now that I know the beauty it holds, things like that should not be anywhere close to Wes Wages and I. We are a walking hazard.

But when I tell her this, she says her mother told her, if it isn’t worth using, it isn’t worth having… or something like that. So, the grandkids will run past the crystal and shake it until it seems to want to fall, and slam the lid on the candy jar making it clang. But my mom won’t wince. She is just happy it is being used.

I love this about her.

So for my mom, and all of the other ladies out there who have a love for the finer things in life. Here you go. The Waterford Crystal factory.
When we got there, we saw a tour heading in… we decided to jump on. Once we got in the room we realized we stood out… haha. But Wes said we look more like this group than the Chinese tour ahead of us. Oh, well, we had fun!  We spent the night in Tramore, just south of Waterford in this quaint B&B. It was so lovely! Oh, I love love it! The next morning we left for Hook Head, we were told there was a lighthouse there. We got on a ferry to cross over. I was blown away that I was in a car, on a boat. I know that is small, but it shook my brain!  This is where I get to tell you a little more about my family. My mom’s mom, my granny, well, I never met her… though I have a feeling we would have loved each other very much. She wore Red Lipstick. And my mom loves red lipstick. So, I feel it is only natural.  Wes was out exploring this cliff/rock thing, and looked down and suddenly saw a walrus/seal thing. I am not sure which, we keep saying Walrus. So it is a walrus. haha. I missed this first part but got to listen to him pant, and breath and play in the water. Even saw his fin as he was moving about. I LOVE all things large. Yes, this may explain my 6’5 husband. But seriously, this was so fun. On of my favorite highlights yet.

We eat some form of Fish & chips almost every day. Wes was extra excited about this place… the line was forever long, which only means one thing to him. So we got it! And about 5 seconds after taking this photo I spilled it on the ground. Haha. Score.  Well, this was an extra long blog post!

Hope you enjoyed it! So much coming up!

Be happy and Love each other!

There are moments in our relationship that Wes Wages gets an intuitive hunch- or maybe he just gets impatient- either way. Sometimes Wes Wages saves the day by his well, we will call it early curiosity.

The Dark Hedges is a section of trees that grows in Antrim County, Ireland. It was 12 miles from Ballycastle where we were staying. I saw a photo of this place on Pinterest one day and fell in love. I added it to my “Bucket List” pinboard and knew I would have to visit.

Luckily Amy J. also has a huge love for trees, so it wasn’t hard to convence the rest of our little group to go here. We knew that we wanted to do a mini session with her while we had her here, so we decided this was the PERFECT location. We decided to wake up early in the morning to come to the shoot.

Well, the night before the shoot, Wes decided to just drive here from the Causeway without asking if any of us wanted to go. He just kept driving until we looked up and wow. There they were. It was just at sunset and it looked like the scene in Snow White just before she finds the dwarfs. Mystical. Lovely. It was perfect.

So it was set, this was definitely the spot. We wake up, get ready & drive. And when get to the road there is a “Closed Road” sign posted. We tried every entrance. We were shattered.

Heather, the “life ponderer” of the group, said, who cares, lets go! So we walked down, discovered that of course on the day we want to shoot, there is something else- apparently more important- being filmed. So we just scooted up closer to where we were out of view and had a our mini session.

I am so thankful that Wes Wages got the feeling to drive down that night, because if he hadn’t we wouldn’t have gotten to see the beauty of the hedges in their most wonderful part. He always knows what is best, I just have to learn to trust him.

But, here are the photos. The Dark Hedges… and their cows ;)

And a mini session of Amy J!

The ladies of the week.

Shoots don’t always go off as planned, not only was our location blocked, but it rained during the majority of the photos you see, and our car got shut behind a gate that we didn’t think we could get out of. Life is an adventure. Every part. Even your photoshoots. So when you plan yours, expect the unexpected & be exciting that something new may happen.

Be Happy and Love each other.
