This couple is as sweet as anyone I have ever met. We finally got to do their engagement session after rescheduling for rain 5 times… and finally the sun came out. And it was worth it.

Wes and I enjoyed getting to know both of you so much and we cannot wait for your wedding. I know it is going to be so fabulous.

When I say that I love a couple, I truly mean it.

The weekend of this wedding was truly a whirlwind. Wes & I, with the company of 2 of our close friends, drove down to Jacksonville, Fl through the night and arrived Thursday morning about 4 am. We slept in the RV in a Walmart parking lot until it was time to meet up with Adam & Lauren.

Lauren had decided since she and Adam were both from Jacksonville to do an extra session there the day before the wedding. I thought this was brilliant. It gave them a chance to get away from the stress of planning and just be with each other. Be close to each other. It brought the focus back to them. Plus, it got them warmed up for the photos the next day.

I absolutely loved the location they brought us to for the shoot…. well, except for the fact she told us when she visited the location with her sister, a lizard fell on her head. (I hate lizards more than snakes… I walked with my hand over my head for most of the session… haha)

After the session, they invited us to have breakfast with their family. This.was.awesome. Lauren is originally from New Jersey, so most of her family were visiting from there. It was so great getting to hang out with them and know them. Some of the nicest people we have worked with. They welcomed us with open arms and truly made us fill apart of the experience. One of my favorite wedding memories yet.

I wanted to share this session to introduce the wedding. This session started the 3 days of non-stop shooting that I will remember always. I am in love with this couple. This bride has a piece of my heart. And I am so so so thankful I got to share in this with her.

This is the easiest shoot I have done in a long time.

This couple being with each other seemed as natural as them breathing. The two of them just fit. It was amazing. I loved every single second.

Typically at the beginning of the shoot, I tell couples it is ok if they feel awkward at first, it will get better & they will get more use to it. Well, after my spill… Hart & Colten just fell into place. No awkwardness, no weirdness… just happy, fun, flirting.

I cannot wait for this June wedding simply because I cannot wait to photograph them together again.

To the both of you, thank you for making my job rock. You are awesome & enjoy every second of these last few engaged months! It is almost here!

And I am obsessed with this. Thank you for your patience! We are working on getting technical issues with our blog worked out. It has been taking me about 3 hours to blog… and that is NOT normal! When I met Joseph Thigpen, I was a freshman in college working for his Dad. When he came home for the holidays/summer, he would work the shop and was always hanging around. He spend the last 30 minutes of his work day usually in my office making fun of me for being a ballerina or whatever random thing had happened that day… no day was complete without being picked on by Joseph. He is the kind of guy that is sweet on the interior but has his manly, hard exterior at the same time. I always knew it was going to take a special girl to keep up with him.

Shooting their engagement session is really the first time I really got to hang out with and know Breanne on a more intimate level. Talking with her I quickly found out how she is the absolute match for this man. She can beat him up but then in the same second be feminine and ladylike. She can put Joe is his place & then woo him with her beauty.

They met at boot camp while they were both in the Army. She was covered in sweat & dirt… which is how most girls picture themselves finding their mate, but they had each others backs and looked out for one another. Then one day Joseph saw her out of uniform and I think it was game over from there. She has since decided being in the military wasn’t for her, but being the daughter of a military man gave her the perfect lifestyle background to be married to Joe. I know she is going to be strong for him in all things, and love him unconditionally, and be proud of each of his achievements because she understands what it takes to do what he does. I don’t think he could have found anyone more perfect for him.

I am so happy for them both. I love love love love the Thigpen family & so happy for their new addition… Breanne is a lucky lady to join this family. I am sure Joe is joining one just as equally amazing.

I cannot wait for this March wedding! It is coming close! Joseph & Bre, I love you both. I cannot wait to see all of the places you will go! Congratulations!

Their new baby Jake joined us! He is so stinking cute!!! I want to snuggle with his little face! Love! 

I have wanted to photograph Leigh Carl since the day I met her. Actually, lets back up. Leigh Carl & I both went to UNA, and for about a year, I heard her name probably once a day from various people. Everyone was talking about Leigh Carl. The thing that I realized, was that no one was saying a single bad word of her. Everything was of how great she was…. and so naturally, I wanted to meet this girl. And I wanted to make her be friends with me. I started to beg a close friend to introduce me to her & get us to hang out… but that friend was unreliable, and never made it happen. So, finally my best friend Leigh, made things happen for us. She realized we both had a common love for So You Think You Can Dance…. dance, dance… PERFECT! I can lure her to my house with treats and we can bond over beautiful Mia Michaels routines. And so we did. We are both pretty introverted, so it is hard to finally break that awkward boundary, but YAY! I finally am friends with the famous Leigh Carl! haha… maybe not after this post… but hopefully.

When Leigh Carl met Tyler, we all kind of wondered what would happen. He isn’t really they guy anyone saw coming… but honestly, who wants to be predictable anyways? After they got engaged, she came over and started telling me about their love. And how she finally learned for the first time in her life what love was suppose to look like. How she was suppose to be treated as a lady, and loved in a way that is pure and unconditional. Her words warmed my heart and made me so overjoyed to see someone so happy. Oh. I love love.

Spending the day with these two was so perfect. I loved they way he would make her giggle every other second. I love that he has a permanent smile always on his face… literally… you will see. I love how gorgeous she looks in every single photo. I love seeing both of these two people happy. I have wanted to share these photos with you since the day I took them. My one goal today was to blog. So I couldn’t think of a better sneak peak to quickly share. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do. Be Happy and Love each other. T

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! Screaming with pure Joy on the inside that I can FINALLY blog these gems!

Many of you have been following, but those of you just tuning in. Alex and Erin are our winners for Shoals Perfect Wedding…. which is exactly what it sounds like… haha. This couple entered a contest in January to win the “perfect” wedding. They submitted their inspiration board & were chosen to represent the Shoals area and all of it’s best vendors.

This couple is special & beautiful & wonderful… and each time I get to spend time with them I fall more and more in love. If you haven’t been following their journey, I recommend checking it out!
