The end of 2009 marks the end of a decade, the end of an era. Most everyone I hear talking about it cannot wait for it to be over. (Lucky for them, they only have a few more hours) But I cannot help but stop and reflect on what this means. This decade has been, and may forever be, the most impactful decade of my life. This decade holds all of my beloved high school memories, I made the best friends I will ever have in those years. They are some of my most treasured memories and I always smile when I think about it. Half way through the decade I took the plunge, moved from my hometown, traveled a mere hour and a half to find my first apartment and the beginning of a journey that I will never forget… college. That year I ended what had been the most meaningful relationship of my life to finally find my love, the man God designed for me. December 2005, I began the process of experiencing the peace I had spent my entire life looking for. I found forgiveness and took hold of what it meant to follow Christ with everything I am. In 2007, I graduated college, proud of what I had accomplished. 2008, I married my groom in the most intimate ceremony I have ever attended. Two weeks later I officially shot my first wedding, this marked the beginning of something great. In the last year of this decade, I have experienced life with my husband, purchasing a home, expanding a business, learning about how to love unconditionally.
This decade, as a whole, holds more meaning than any other probably ever will. I am thankful to be able to look back and see how blessed I am, I know there must have been some hard times in there, but all I can see is how happy I was in each experience. 2009 is a great way to go out….
