I could easily say that Aubrey Peterson is the most thoughtful human I have ever met. Yup. She is. And she has a lot of competition, I have met a lot of thoughtful people…. but she takes the cake. (kind of literally with her cake pops she shared with us during this shoot)
I got to know Aubrey through her BFF, Jessica, who lives here locally. She and Jessica met way back when she was traveling with her military family, and they have remained friends despite move after move. I have gotten to know Jessica through our mutual love of photography, and luckily, Aubrey came into the mix.
We first met last year when Wes and I were in Las Vegas attending WPPI. We decided to have breakfast together, and I realized just how nice she truly was. I knew that I liked there then, but now, after getting to meet her love and spend the a good chunk of the day together, I love her.
Ok, I just professed my love to another human via blog. But I can’t help it. She is kind and thoughtful and one of those people that challenges everyone around her to be a better person. It is true.
Now a little of her love story.
She and her husband met and dated for 3 years before he received his orders to go to Afghanistan to do his military duty. They decided now was as good of time as any to get married, so they tied the knot and a short 3 months later, Derek deployed.
Now 3 years later, they are happily in love more than they ever though possible, in fact, their anniversary is a few short days away. Seeing how they interact with each other and laugh with each other is somewhat contagious. It makes me want to love deeper and without hesitation. I’ll be honest, every time Wes goes up into that tiny airplane my heart questions why God gave me a man with such risky hobbies, but to be married to someone who serves their country and has the potential to risk it all, that takes an amazing woman.
I want to be BFF with this couple forever, whether they live in Las Vegas, Georgia, or Germany, I hope we always stay in contact. I’ll admit, that I am terrible with long distance relationships, but I would love to meet up for breakfast anytime, anywhere.
Love to you both.

I have one more desert shoot to share with you this week… AND a few photos of Wes and I that our two fabulous photographer couples took of us!
Be Happy and Love each other.
