I could have had a heart attack on the day of this wedding.

It seemed like each moment got better than the last, and my heart could just stop from so much love. This day was truly perfect. Really perfect. The weather was just oh, wow…. I could live every day with this weather. And the couple, oh, I loved this couple. Every photo I took of them just blew me away. I probably ohhh-ed & ahhh-ed at my LCD screen all day.

Julie and Derek decided to do something a little different. Julie didn’t want him to see her in her dress before the wedding, but she wanted to spend time with him. So the met before photos started and prayed together, shared gifts, and experienced alone time that most couples don’t get to enjoy. I loved they wanted to spend some time in prayer before starting every other event of the day. It says a lot about them as people & the foundation of what their marriage is built on.  I know they will cherish these few minutes together for a long time.

Julie surprised us with these awesome mugs!!!! One for me & one for Wes!!!! Eat, sleep, shoot! I love love surprises & this one made my day!

Derek had a close friend he met at SCAD design & create his grooms cake. I can honestly say I have never seen a cake with so much detail. I could have stared at it all day.

Julie & Derrek, I wish you the very best that life has to offer. I hope you are both loving New York and enjoying exploring and falling deeper in love. I cannot wait to see you again sometime. Thank you for trusting us, and giving us the opportunity to share in this important day.

Be happy and Love each other.

  • Nicole: I love, love, love the pre-wedding meet-up. What a sweet way to get to spend time together while still making that moment down the isle so special! Beautiful couple and beautiful shots, guys! 10.01.2011 03:07pm
  • preston carter: Top notch. Just gorgeous! 10.06.2011 07:40am

I tried to narrow down. I tried.

Lauren & Josh, needless to say, your wedding was awesome. The whole day, every detail. I am thankful to have been apart of it. So happy for you both. I know your marriage is going to be so full of love, and it started here. Congratulations to you both.

Just a note… Lauren and Josh were chosen as a finalist for the Shoals Perfect Wedding – you’ll be able to see more photos in the Bridal Issue of No’Ala Magazine!

Shelly Spidel made each bridesmaid dress. Every person who knows Shelly wants one of her dresses. Needless to say, she is amazing. I love these fabrics together that Lauren chose from Thread fabrics. Love Love.

Any wedding I walk in and see Natalie, I already know these photos are going to look fabulous. She is the most talented make-up artist that I have the pleasure of working with. Lauren looked absolutely gorgeous, and I know it is because Natalie knows the perfect way to bring out her natural beauty!

I love these shots Wes got of Josh’s girls rooms! And I actually saw Josh tweet this same photo this week saying he hopes these girls still have these when they are 14 & 16.

As Wes was shooting Josh, he said to him, “Just think about Lauren” and this is what he got.

Lauren made each bowtie herself. I think she nailed it.

During the prewedding prayer. Love.

Chris Anderson with Up Down Media played the role of groomsman/videographer. haha. This is perfect.

Josh & Lauren chose to not only say vows to each other, but also to his daughters. Wow. I can’t imagine a better way to start your new family. It was so awesome to experience not only Josh’s love for them, but Lauren’s as well. These girls just gained another person who will love them forever. Wow.

I think this is a great spot to say that this day was truly made possible with the help of Ashley Winkle Events. She helped style, direct, and plan…. and I watched her work her tail off. It was a perfect day and I know she played a huge role in making that happen. Every detail you see here, she touched in some way.

Wow. Well, I hope that starts your week off right. Big blog, big love.

Leave a comment and tell Lauren how awesome her wedding was. I have never seen so many details in one wedding. This girl definitely deserves a high five.

Be Happy and Love each other.

Today is Friday, so why not leave you with two new blogs for the weekend?

When Allen & Julie moved to town, Wes and I showed them the ropes and hoped to get them use to living in a new town. Honestly, I didn’t expect the two of them to become two of our favorite friends…. yeah, don’t tell our other friends. We absolutely love hanging out with them & are so thankful they are in our lives.

See, when Wes quit working at the church last year to go full time with me, we wanted to help find the perfect replacement for our college ministry. I had gone to high school with Allen, and knew he was in seminary, so I thought he could point me in the direction of someone good. Little did I expect for him to be the one to move down and take the job. I couldn’t be more thrilled. As much as we loved the ministry, and the people at the church, having Allen & Julie in our lives made the transition even more exciting for us!

I am so happy for you both. I cannot wait to meet this little ball of love. The meaning behind her name is beautiful cheerful friend… and I know she will be ever sing ounce of that.

Here are your shots.

Can we please talk about how beautiful Julie is??? Wow.

Julie is actually a dietitian, haha, I get really nervous for her to see what I eat! But I think it is extra funny that her biggest craving has been Krispy Kreme donuts. haha. So we had to have some in the shoot. I love this series of images. Allen, being funny… her genuinely thinking he is funny, and then her pure joy…. and Allen’s face that he made his wife really smile. I love it. I hope you all enjoy your weekend. Do something fun for yourself.

Be happy and Love each other.

I am so excited to show you this fun wedding and this awesome couple. I want to say that it was love at first sight for Erica & Jacob, meeting in college & falling in love, it couldn’t have been more ideal.

I am so happy for you both. I enjoyed spending the day laughing and dancing with you.

Hope you enjoy your shots.

I want to explain the first two photos. See the girl on the left, that is Crissy, my college roommate. She is always the girl in the room doing something to make someone laugh. Well, in this shot she didn’t plan to do it. Eating her prewedding snack, she realized it had actually expired like 2 years before! haha. Never a dull moment.

I am not usually a fan of jumping shots, but this group gave it their all. I love Gil over on the left. Nice.

Be Happy and Love each other!

  • Nicole: They just look so sweet. I love the looks that they give each other. Perfect. 09.16.2011 10:40pm

Julie Batson is a southern bell who has seen the world pursuing her dancing passion. Those are all of my favorite characteristics. I have mentioned I LOVE working with dancers, I love spending time with people who travel, and well, southern is in my blood. As soon as I met her, I knew I wanted to be apart of her bridal experience. She is someone who is genuine, determined, and gorgeous inside and out! I loved working with her more and more with each meeting/email/phone call.

I wanted to show off a few of her bridals because she totally rocked it. These images are beautiful & I am so proud I was given the chance to take them.

I cannot wait to show off her wedding but I have a couple more to show off first! The next wedding is the epitome of vintage southern charm. You can look forward to a barn, mason jars, wild flowers, and a handsome ring bearer! See you back soon!

Be happy and love each other!

This couple warms my heart. They are the type of people that make you comfortable and make you feel like old friends. This wedding was a blast. While editing their coupleshots, it seemed every other photo was them laughing. This made me so happy. I love seeing how fun the day can be with a happy couple.

I hope you enjoy their sneak peak. Laura & Johnny, I wish the very best for you both. I know your marriage is going to be blessed & you will bless others with your love. I am so happy for you both. Thanks for letting us be apart of it.

This is a great place to tell you that Laura worked with my favorite florist, Mandy Majerik of HotHouse Design Studio. I am in love with everything Mandy touches, and she did not let me down on this day. Wow! Love Love!

Hope you all enjoy your beautiful weekend. It is so gorgeous, I want to bask in the sun!

Be Happy and Love each other!
