Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope you hearts are full of love & joy on this perfect day! Today we celebrate the deepest love of all. The love of our Savior!

I wanted to share a snippet of my surprise gift from my love! Wes Wages contacted my favorite photographer Gabriel Ryan and asked him to do a shoot of us this past week while we were in Los Angeles. When he told me I completely freaked out with excitement. I have followed Gabriel’s blog for about 3 and a half years now. Right after he and his lovely bride Carlie got married and started their own business. I fell in love with this couple and was over the moon to have them photograph us! Best gift idea ever! So I couldn’t wait to show you just a few! I am so thankful for this Christmas gift that I will be able to have forever.

Remember the first giveaway, I urged you to do your special session! Do it! I am so thankful that I did mine!

This describes it. Love.

And now without further ado. We will announce the winner of a very special Christmas gift! We announce the first winner through video, we thought it be appropriate to announce the last! Congratulations!

Be Happy and Love each other.

  • Lauren: They are so beautiful! :) Merry Christmas! 12.26.2011 06:52pm
  • Aubrey: Your love is beautiful!! I may or may not have teared up looking at these precious pictures (especially the last one) of you guys... but I definitely did! 01.03.2012 02:21am

Thank you all who have entered our month of giveaways! It has certainly been fun!

I am happy to announce that with your help we were able to donate enough money for 2 water filters for Nicole’s Samaritan purse goal. I am so excited. But I will be honest. I am a little disappointed. I had hoped we could do more, but I am thankful for the faithfulness for those of you who did participate. Luckily, you will be added double time to this entry if you enter again! And this is one you definitely don’t want to miss.

One of mine & Wes’ favorite things is to get away. haha.. I know what you are thinking. Yes, we love to travel. But honestly, one of our favorite times of the year is when we go up and spend the night in Nashville. No agenda, no meetings, nothing but us enjoying each other. And that is what we want to give you.

One night at Aloft Hotel in Nashville , Dinner at Bricktops with two movie tickets, and breakfast at our most favorite breakfast spot (actually where we ate the morning after our wedding) Monell’s. A perfect* date away!

What do I want to know?

Who are you taking away for the night? Why do you want take them?

Here is a photo of Wes and I on one of our very first photo dates with each other. Hanging out at the Parthenon in Nashville. It was the perfect date day with the man I loved… and he finally loved me too. And this day, I knew it.

Merry Christmas everyone. And thank you again for all of the love.

Be Happy and Love each other.

  • Nicole: THANK YOU GUYS for what you gave! I know it is going to be used to change lives. That picture of you guys is precious... I love looking back at pictures right after he said those big three words. I look TOO happy!! If I were to win this... I would give it to my parents. They are constantly showing me what unselfish love looks like and they devote so much of themselves to others. I would love to send them on a little vacation! 12.21.2011 10:14am
  • Katye Coats: I would love to take my Husband, Matt, to Nashville! It is one of his fav places and where he had his brief professional singing career. Would also love a weekend for just the two of us as we don't get much alone time with a just turned 1 year old! Love watching your work and remembering you sitting behind me in Dr. Nelson's history class! 12.21.2011 10:26am
  • Rebecca: So many will be blessed by what you have given! Thank you for sharing so freely! I love getting away with my love - and love Nashville! We have been on a few getaway trips there, but never to any of the places you listed! I would love to go with my hubby and do one of our fav things - experience new places together! Merry Christmas! 12.21.2011 10:28am
  • Ann Marie: Yall are so cute I can't stand it! ;) I'd love to win and take my hubbie away! We love to travel and love to have short getways too! Since he started grad school (seminary at Beeson), we have not had much time together! :) (Um, well, although we ARE going to Paris and Austria next month...but that will be the "last hurrah" until after school...haha) Hope yall have a VERY merry Christmas! 12.21.2011 10:38am
  • Lindsey Walker: I would LOVE LOVE to have a little giveaway with my sweet husband. We definitely need some time to ourselves, even if it is just one quiet, peaceful night! We have had a whole lot going on over the last couple of years...trying to sell a house, both of us busting our tails at our full time jobs, & me starting up a newborn & maternity photography business. It's definitely taken it's toll & I'd love a little R&R w/ my honey. That, and oh yeah, Nashville is awesome ;) 12.21.2011 10:43am
  • Laura Walker: James and I took "Day-cations" a lot while we were dating, because we were not comfortable spending the night with each other, but still wanted special time alone to make memories together. So day trips to Nashville are one of our favorite things to do. If I won this i would take my beloved James. We will soon be married and able to spend the night with each other on trips so this is an exciting time for us, and honestly one of the things we are most excited about, about being married! Since we decided not to do a big honeymoon we relish the times when we can afford to getaway for a few days and just be us without the worries of everyday life. We would love this opportunity! -Laura Walker 12.21.2011 10:50am
  • Hanna Denton: Fortunately, I'm married to my best friend so I would definitely take him! AND, we LOVE Nashville so it would work out great! Thanks and have a very merry Christmas!!! 12.21.2011 10:57am
  • Christen Frederickson: I will take my WONDERFUL husband because without him life's no fun at all! 12.21.2011 11:08am
  • James Thigpen: You guys are just too much kindness as a couple. And I guess that's a very good thing. If I were to win, I would take my fiancee for a honeymoon. We're on a very low budget for wedding stuffs, and it would be wonderful to experience Nashville with her, stress-free and care-free. (Besides that we both love taking road trips together and jamming out to mix CDs!) 12.21.2011 11:16am
  • Laura Senecal: HOLLA! I am down for winning this!! Every year, Jacob and I like to go somewhere and try to celebrate our anniversary. Our "Wedding" was a time when we eloped and got away from everyone, everything, and enjoyed each other. I will always remember the sweetness of that, and we like to do that once a year- it's coming up in January- I WOULD LOVE TO GO TO NASHVILLE! woot! 12.21.2011 11:40am
  • Kristen Bacon: Ah Nashville...I love Nashville. And Dustin Bacon. And we NEED a getaway together! We have planned a Nashville trip so many times over the past 2 years and it has yet to happen. It would be wonderful to have an excuse to HAVE to go :) Plus, you two know more about travel than anyone I know and we have been clueless as to the best place to stay! 12.21.2011 12:02pm
  • Leigh Carl: This is an amazing giveaway! If I were to win I would obviously bring my best friend Tyler! We rarely get to do anything together that we would consider "fun" due to paying for the new home, his schoolwork, and me working all week every week. This would be a great time alone for us to spend as a couple... enjoying the last few months of engagement before wedding stress goes into overdrive ;) 12.21.2011 12:04pm
  • Jessica Magee: Oooh, we love Nashville. Christopher and I go all the time for our favorite past time ... hockey!! I'd definietely be taking him. Ooh, I love that man. Our five year anniversary is in February! I can't barely believe it that the man of my dreams, the man I (literally) specifically asked God for. I mean I actually made a list of requirements, some very random, and God showed me the man that fit every SINGLE requirement on my list. He's my absolute completion. I didn't have a happy first 19 years, then I found Christopher and I haven't stopped being happy since. God knew this was what my heart needed. We would love to win this trip! And I know you didn't donate as much as you would've liked, but what you did donate makes a huge difference, please know this. 12.21.2011 12:19pm
  • Whitney Dugger: Hmm. I would take Preston to the big city of Nashville! He has never been out and about in the city to experience all of the attractions! And he loves country music so what better place to take him? And lastly- I love him and can't think of anyone else I would take! :) 12.21.2011 12:20pm
  • Erika Ladner: WoOhOo!!! A date night in Nashville sounds spectacular! I would be tempted to take my groom to celebrate nearly five months of marital bliss :) BUT I'd probably give it to my parents who've had a crazy year but love each other through it all--those cute kids could enjoy a night out on the town! 12.21.2011 01:15pm
  • brittany: Great idea Yall!! I would want to take my husband. We have been renovating our kitchen and although it originally should have only been a weekend project, we are now going on three weeks. He has worked non stop every night until late. He deserves a getaway to relax! 12.21.2011 01:18pm
  • Breanne Branting: I've not yet seen Nashville and would love to experience it. I definitely would take Joe cause he's pretty good looking:), but really he's my bestfriend and love of my life couldn't leave town without him. 12.21.2011 01:58pm
  • Breanne Branting: I've not yet seen Nashville and would love to experience it. I'd definitley take Joe cause he pretty good looking :), but really he's my best friend and love of my life I couldn't leave town without him. 12.21.2011 02:11pm
  • Kasidhe Pruet: I'd love to go away with my fiance for a weekend. We love to travel too but we never take any moment to just be together, there's always something we had planned. We would love a spontaneous trip to ourselves! 12.21.2011 02:16pm
  • Jordyn: This is by far the best giveaway in the history of giveaways! Bradley and I used to always take spontaneous Nashville trips when dating. Some of our favorite earlier memories are in Nashville! On the way back from out first little weekend getaway he said, "Ya know, you haven't even gotten on my nerves!" In Bradley language that meant I was the right girl from him. Haha. So maybe we'll win this and get a Bradley & Jordyn weekend date. A moment to step away from mom and dad world and just enjoy each other completely to ourselves... and a full night's sleep! :) 12.21.2011 02:27pm
  • Kim: Someone is getting a sweet Christmas present! I would take my handsome husband. It seems a lot of people have favorite dating moments in Nashville. One of my favorite memories is a day spent in Nashville, we were walking around downtown and then BAM- the biggest downpour of rain you could ever imagine! At first I was a little annoyed but then we couldn't help but crack up as we ran for cover. We were on our way to dinner so I spent some time in the bathroom literally ringing out my dress and hair Fun times! With two littles and another on the way time together is precious for us, we try and make time for just the two of us but to me a true relaxation is leaving town! 12.21.2011 04:32pm
  • Grace Oaks: I LOVE this idea! I am yet to have a significant other so but I would LOVE to give this trip to my parents; two people who have loved each other for almost 25 years and have never had the opportunities to treat one another to lavish trips. My dad has always worked long hard hours for my mom to be a stay at home mom so trips were never in the picture. So this would def be an awesome fun get away for these two awesome people! 12.21.2011 05:45pm
  • Katie Guinn: This would be amazing! I would love to "give" this trip to Braxton. He works so hard for our family so that I can stay home with Luke and never complains. Since we've added a baby into our lives, I know a lot of my time and attention is focused on Luke and not Braxton. Not intentionally, just life at the moment! Braxton deserves time away more than anyone I know! 12.21.2011 08:13pm
  • Natalie Faggioni: Whoo hoo, what a fun night! Well, I would definetly take my amazing husband on this getaway. It would be so great to surprise him because he loves me so unconditionally and goes above and beyond to show me daily. I would love to give him this and take him to a sports event- hockey or football game and let him sleep in the next morning because that never happens in our house with three monkeys ;-) Thank you guys for all that you are and your sweet giving hearts! Love you both! 12.21.2011 09:24pm
  • Cheryl McClendon: I would take my husband, Brent. After having twin boys 4 1/2 years ago we don't get much alone time these days. Brent is a hard working man that would do anything for his family. He is so giving and always puts me and the boys first. I love the fact that he loves us so much. He deserves this trip. When we do have time alone he treats me like a lady. He still opens the car door for me, holds my hand and respects me. I love this man more than words can describe. Until last month he has worked night shift and it has been so nice having the man of my dreams be able to be at home with me at night. I miss him when he is not around and I love him more than I ever knew I was capable of when he is by my side. 12.21.2011 09:56pm
  • Jessica Pelt: I would like to enter my parents for this awesome giveaway. They have only went on a handful of vacations during their 28 (come Dec. 31) years of marriage. Much of their time and resources have been given to help out family members in need. Therefore, I'd love for them to be able to enjoy a mini-vaca such as this! Thank you for the offer! 12.21.2011 10:23pm
  • Katie Terry: Totally missed the last giveaway but love the post and support. I would take my love Jeremy because we haven't had much a getaway and NEED one!! 12.21.2011 11:05pm
  • Michelle: I would love to take my husband...because he has faithfully commuted to seminary in Nashville for the past 3 years and come home every.single.night. 12.21.2011 11:19pm
  • Melissa Sparks: I would of course take my sweet, little Justin. (I know I'm the little one, but it's still fun to call him that.) Justin drives to work in Huntsville everyday so we can stay here in Tuscumbia so I can work at my favorite school in the world, and so we both can be close to our families. He is always worrying about paying off loans and saving money, and it would be wonderful to spend time with him without having to worry about money at all! Nashville is super fun, so that's a plus, too. :) 12.21.2011 11:47pm
  • Anna Laura Lawrence: Oh I love this!! I would definitely take the hubs because we certainly need a getaway! I would love to give this to him as a gift because he works so hard for us. Back to school and working two jobs...he deserves a break! Thanks for this awesome getaway...whoever wins will be so blessed. Yall are awesome - Merry Christmas!!! 12.22.2011 08:43am
  • Jacki Gil: I would definitely take my husband, Rudy for this same reason! My favorite trips we take are weekend trips to Atlanta. We don't have anything to do except everything together! It's amazing. I don't comment on all your blogs, but I certainly read them all-- you guys do great work, and have the sweetest marriage I've ever "read". 12.22.2011 08:51am
  • Erin: My rock star husband would be my number #1 pick. I think this would be amazing anniversary present for us. He works so hard for our family. He is my best friend, soul mate, and partner in crime. Oh how i hope and pray it is us. :D 12.22.2011 10:24am
  • Anna Laura: Oh I love this!! 12.22.2011 10:53am
  • Lauren: Since i'm such a sweet sister if I won this, I would give the trip to my wonderful big sister & her amazing husband.. We all know they need a break from there wild children, not saying i'll be a baby sitter though :) But I would be more than happy to get this trip and let them have it! 12.22.2011 12:17pm
  • Josh: I would be taking my wife Megan with me! I would love to take her just so we could have some "us" time without any distractions. With her working her job, doing things at the church, or dancing and myself working at the fire station, it just seems like we see each other as I'm coming in from work and see is getting ready to leave for work. Sooo I would LOVE to surprise her with this gift! 12.22.2011 03:24pm
  • Jessica Moore: Hi! I'm a blog stalker. I love Nashville. I swore I would move post graduation, but God had different plans. I would take my sweet fiancee, Kyle. He's never been and he NEEDS to see those downtown lights. Also, he strikes an eery resemblance to Will Ferrell and I would like to test possible celebrity perks. 12.22.2011 04:53pm
  • Sherry: What a wonderful getaway! I would take my sweet friend Clare because there's nobody I'd rather spend a weekend with. He is always so generous with me I would love to take him on a trip. 12.22.2011 07:43pm
  • Adam Letson: I would take my lovely wife for so many different reasons. She tirelessly serves our kids, manages our home, and loves me unconditionally. And on top of that, she is still my most favoritest person in the world to hang out with. 12.22.2011 10:24pm
  • Mary Cox: Love the throwback photo! I would share this trip with Brad, of course. We could use a weekend trip - just the two of us - especially since he's worked non-stop all through the holidays. He's actually never been to Nashville to explore...so this would be a great opportunity for him! 12.24.2011 12:34pm

First I want to thank you all for entering the Anthropologie giveaway! I loved reading about some of the unique gifts you have received And I am excited to announce today’s winner is….

Jessica Simpson

Thank random.org for selecting comment number 10!

Todays giveaway is a bit different from the last few. It is still a giveaway… but it isn’t for you.

Let me explain.

For the last 2 years, Nicole Vinson has faithfully been following our blog and commenting. We have had the chance to get to know her a little through this internet friendship. She, too, is a blogger. She blogs about faith and living a life as an example of Christ. I love the name of it… Bloom where you are planted. She has guest bloggers who tell their story and offer an encouraging or challenging word. She is also a lover of travel & love… so you get some of that goodness as well. But overall she has a heart for people.

This holiday season, she wanted to give back. She challenged her readers to help her raise money for clean water filters to families who are in need through the Samaritan’s Purse. Her goal is to give 10 water filter’s that cost $100 each. You can read more about her project here.

Because this season is more about giving than receiving, Wes and I thought it would be awesome if this weeks gift was to help someone else in need. So this is what we are doing.

I want to hear what you are thankful for this holiday season.

I am thankful for the health of all of my family members. Cliché right? But as I get older and I watch my grandparents get older, every single holiday I have them all here with me is truly a gift. I am a grandparent’s girl, so they mean the WORLD to me. I am also thankful for y’all. Giving Wes and I the opportunity to give is truly a blessing. I am so so thankful for each day I get to do what I love.

So for every comment. Wes & I will donate $5 to Nicole’s cause. For every new facebook & twitter follower we will donate $1. You have until 9pm on the 19th to comment. And if you comment on this blog, you are given double the chance of winning our very last gift announced on the 20th. It is going to be awesome. Truly one of mine & Wes’ favorite things. And no, it is not Caesar Wages ;)

This is a photo of us with Nicole! We finally got to meet her on Tuesday!! It was so great to meet someone so passionate and full of joy! She is doing things to change lives! And I want to help her!

Give back!

Jessica, send me an email with your address through our contact page, and I’ll put your gift right in the mail!

Be happy and love each other.

  • Ann Marie Leveille: Y'all are awesome...I wish you lived in Bham so we could be friends, but I know yall are doing wonderful things in the wedding (and greater) community in the Shoals area! :) Anyway, I'm thankful for the same, Tera! In September my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and positive "breast cancer genes" (BRACA), her sister is finishing a battle with advanced ovarian cancer, and my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer this month. We have A LOT to be thankful for...for excellent medical care and technology, for the Lord's provision and protection, and for one another. Mom is doing well on chemo, my aunt just had a clear PET scan report and is in remission, and my grandmother is deciding what to do about her diagnosis. It's been a challenging year, but I am so thankful that I have time with my family! Merry Christmas yall! 12.15.2011 02:09pm
  • Rachael B: I just stumbled across your blog and what a wonderful thing it is. I love that people are inspired to help people without any form of reward. The desire to do good needs be the only motivation. I wish you and Wes all the best and I'll be following for more! 12.15.2011 02:18pm
  • Brynn Albretsen: I am thankful for way more than would fit in this box, but realize I need to be brief. I would say that I am thankful that God has given me the opportunity and the skills necessary to own my own business and provide for my family while doing something I truly love. I am blessed beyond I deserve. 12.15.2011 02:29pm
  • Kimberly Washer: I love that you and Wes are doing all of these give aways!! It truly shows the kind of people that you are! This holiday season I have realized what a blessing it is to be a Christian!! Not that I haven't noticed it or thanked God for it before, but it has come extremely apparent as of lately. I am so thankful that I not only have a huge church family, but just about every member of mine and my husband's biological families are Christians as well. This past week we were able to witness my cousin being baptized for the forgiveness of his sins! It was an incredible moment! And the crazy thing about it is he was able to gather about 20 family members, in an extremely short amount of time, to celebrate the most important decision of his life. Last year at this time, my husband and I were overseas. Yes, it was hard to be away from our biological families, but when you are a Christian you have family whereever you go. So, this holiday season I am most thankful for the wonderful Christians that surround me on a daily basis! 12.15.2011 02:52pm
  • Bethany Oliver: You two light up my life. I am thankful for our friendship! I love you both! 12.15.2011 03:02pm
  • Amanda holland: I'm thankful for my husband!! 12.15.2011 03:19pm
  • James Thigpen: I'm thankful for you guys and your service to Jesus! What an amazing work you two are up to! I know the Lord is proud of you: Matt. 25:23 12.15.2011 03:28pm
  • Joanna: I am so thankful for the wonderful friends and family that God has blessed me with! 12.15.2011 03:36pm
  • Hanna Denton: Tera & Wes, I think this is my first time commenting! I follow your blog through my Google Reader and so I see and read all the truly amazing work you do! You both have such God given talent that you are constantly sharing with the world. I've admired your work since I knew y'all from UNA (& Gilbert Court!) and Andrew & Anna Laura's wedding. I've been amazed, but not surprised, at how much you've grown and all the new adventures you take on each week. I pray for the health and safety of my family and friends every day. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in January of this year. She's been a trooper through a double mastectomy, chemo, and reconstruction and is now cancer free!!! We've been so blessed by God and by everyone's prayers but it does make you realize how precious good health is and how easily we take the ones we love for granted. It warms my heart to hear of Nicole's challenge and goal to help people with a real need. That's why I'm actually posting, yay!, to help! (I'm much more the stalker, I guess, in blog world - just sitting back and reading, rarely posting.) It's encouraging to see people with such a thoughtful and giving spirit, when it's so easy to get caught up in the materialism of the season. Thank you for your generous commitment to help her and for making it so easy! Keep on doing what you do and may your cup runneth over with blessings!!! Y'all are awesome! Merry Christmas!!! 12.15.2011 03:48pm
  • Camden Nolen: Hey guys! Hope things are well! The blogs have been amazing!! They give me something to look forward to at work!! :) Well I think it is so awesome that y'all are doing all these great give aways!! So what am I thankful for? I am so thankful for great friends and a wonderful family! I am also super grateful to have the opportunity to be in school! Have a great Christmas! 12.15.2011 03:49pm
  • Laura Sencal: This year, as I have felt in years past, I am thankful for my three sweet daughters. The excitement and joy I see on their faces is worth every single bit of stress, money spent, cookies rolled in enormous amounts of flour, little boots put on, and off, and on again, and off again. I am thankful for the little handprints they make me, and sign their name to. I am thankful that in a year off losses, I have these three sweet daughters, just like my Dad had three sweet daughters, and I am a better parent because of that loss. Thankful doesn't begin to explain the feeling you feel after losing a parent and realizing the life before you, to rejoice, to grow with, to adore, to listen. I am so grateful and thankful to be a mother. 12.15.2011 04:25pm
  • Jessica Simpson: I'm thankful for my amazing family and friends! But most of all I am thankful for my sovereign God and His love for me! Thanks for all you do guys! You're awesome! 12.15.2011 04:52pm
  • Molly Vacca: Hey guys!! Several things..thankful for family and friends who love me as much as I love them! And I am also thankful for our precious angels we adopted this Christmas and in the years past! Glad John-Michael and I are fortunate enough to be able to share such small things for these tiny little beings!! Lots of happiness and love to you guys this season!!! :) 12.15.2011 05:01pm
  • Kathi: I am thankful for the people young and old who are willing to serve our country in the military so that we can have the freedoms that we do. 12.15.2011 05:09pm
  • Crissy Dingler: I am so proud of you guys. You really are living the dream, but it is even more awesome because you are completely honoring God with your lives. I always knew you guys would change the world someday and I am so blessed to be part of your lives. I love you both and I pray that God will continue to bless you both as you continue to use your gifts for His glory! 12.15.2011 06:11pm
  • Melissa Sparks: Hey ya'll! I think what ya'll are doing is great. You are both such awesome and talented individuals. Today and everyday I am thankful for my close family. Justin and I really couldn't ask for anything better than our familes. I'm also thankful for my friends that are there for me no matter how long it has been since we've seen each other. Thank you both for reminding everybody what the holidays are supposed to be about. 12.15.2011 06:25pm
  • Laura C: Wow! That is awesome. You all 3 are inspirational. and I am thankful for Christ, my family, and hot showers. Simple. But they're the top of my list. 12.15.2011 08:24pm
  • Lynn Vinson: I am thankful for my family.I am blessed by Nicole's heart of giving and how God is using her to touch the lives of so many. Thank you for your heart of giving also! 12.15.2011 08:51pm
  • Leigh Carl: You guys are truly inspirational, with the biggest hearts of anyone I've met. I am so thankful to know you both. And thankful for my beautiful family, a handsome Tyler Corum, a Lord that loves me, and a life that is blessed beyond measure. Love y'all! 12.15.2011 09:11pm
  • Nicole: You don't have to give for this comment. ;) But, I just wanted to say how much you and Wes challenge and encourage me... and we've only just met! The passion you guys have for life, for Christ, and for each other inspires me to live big, love hard, and do it all with passion. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this cause. Of course I am over the moon with thanks for my sweet baby boy, but I am so glad that he has two great-grandmothers who adore him that he gets to know. They are so special to him already! He laughs and smiles at Nana like no one else! And I am thankful to have videos and pictures with his two special ladies to remember and cherish his entire life. 12.16.2011 08:39pm

If you look up the word “classic” in the dictionary, you will see a photo of Kathryne Jensen. She is literally one of the most elegant, classy people I have ever worked with. She is timeless, and beautiful. She is the kind of lady that you pray your daughter turns out to be. And I was honored to be able to meet such a fine example.

She and Luke couldn’t fit more perfectly together. The way they look at each other… how respectable the both are… and how their love for the family is first.

I loved being apart of this event. It was certainly sweet. Kathryne & Luke, I couldn’t be happier for you. You deserve all the best the world has to offer. Congratulations.

These are Luke’s siblings. This is my DREAM family. I am so in love with their story & the surreal amount of love that they give each other. Wow.

Be Happy and Love each other.

  • Michelle: These are amazing! Y'all did a wonderful job of capturing Luke and Kathryne's personalities. It was such a blessing to watch you guys in action. 12.21.2011 11:21pm

There is so much I can say about this wedding. To sum it up, I will say that it is one that I will hold in my heart for a long time.

Point number one. Smiling. If my mom had been sitting here while I was editing & looking at the photos, she would have said, “I love a happy bride” Probably 100 times. This day was all about smiles. Happiness. Joy.

Point number two.  Family. This family truly opened my eyes to what role a family is suppose to play in weddings. It isn’t just about the bride, or even the bride & groom, but it is about two families becoming one as they give their child to someone else. Both sets of parents were at every.single.shoot. I have never had a mother of the groom at a meeting before, and it warmed my heart that she played such an invested role. Courtney is now her daughter, just as much as Lance is her son. Love.

Point number three. Alice. When I am a mom, I hope that I am as happy as Alice. That day she was there taking care of everyone. Laughing, and having a great time. She made me feel like a guest, like a friend, like a part of the family. She brings such warmth to my heart. I smile every time I think of her.

Point number four. Editing. If you would have been looking at me through the window of 222 while I edited this wedding, you probably would have thought I was bipolar. One minute I was smiling so big that my mouth physically hurt. The next minute I was swiping tears from my eyes. To say this wedding brought me joy is a huge understatement.

Point number five. Love. There is no doubt in my mind that Courtney and Lance are very best friends. The best of best. I have never seen a bride and groom celebrate their marriage with such joyous giggles with each other. The groom was giggling. I was honored to watch it. I am so so happy for you both. You are finally one. I hope you enjoy your sneak peak of this perfect perfect day. Love.

Can we please talk for a minute about how beautiful Courtney is? Wow. I love how natural she looked, and how soft and classic. Absolutely gorgeous.

Some of my favorite flowers ever.

Courtney’s brother stood next to her as she got married. I LOVE this.

Love.

Courtney’s dad built this gazebo by looking at a photograph he took. It was magical. When Courtney and Lance get settled in their future home it will go in their back yard. I can imagine their daughter playing wedding with it. Oh, love.

Yes, that is a ring pop. haha.

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen! It is time for another fantastic giveaway!!!

But first, I will announce the winner of last weeks Modern Family Season 1 AND 2!!! This person is sure to enjoy laughs in many many 24 minute increments! haha. The winner was chosen at random… thanks to random.org… haha. Congratulations to

 Lauren Long

who said this:

“Hey sweet friends :) I know this sounds crazy, but we don’t really have family traditions since my parents divorced when I was a kid and my dad died when I was a teenager. Last Christmas I spent it in Auburn by myself and visited a friend for a little while. My mom was working and traveling and the rest of my family dispersed throughout the country. I know that sounds so sad, but this is why I think what you are doing is so cool because a lot of people don’t really have close by family to go to when the holiday season comes (why it gets so tough). I can’t wait to start new traditions with CJ. :) ANYWAY, something I make a point to do around Christmas time is sit with my mom and talk about my dad. And then, I sneak into my “room” (a room in her house with all of my childhood furniture in it) and go to the very bottom drawer in a dresser. Tucked in the very back is my dad’s favorite tshirt. There is a picture of him holding me as a newborn and he is wearing it. And honest to goodness, I keep it tucked away….because after 12 years without him, it STILL SMELLS LIKE HIM and his house. Instant memories flood. THAT is my Christmas tradition I do every holiday season. Just to remember my favorite man who walked the earth. I just pray that the shirt miraculously never loses that smell. Tis the season of miracles, right? :) (reading this story, it sounds really crazy, but this tradition blesses me every year so so so much.) Love y’all!!!”

and MERRY CHRISTMAS from us! And a big thanks to Random.org for choosing comment 20! haha!

And now… to carry on our tradition of giving away our favorite things… this weeks gift is from my most favorite store.

*Cue the angels singing*

Anthropologie. Yes, ladies go ahead and gasp.

This week I am giving away a beautiful necklace for you to rock out this holiday season. Gentlemen, this is definitely the prize to cue in on for the girlfriend/sister/wife/cool mom.

It is so wonderful, I wish I could keep it for myself. Those are the best gifts to give, right?

And what do I want to know this week?

What is the best gift you have ever received or given for Christmas?

For me, the gift that I have never gotten tired of is, of course, the perfectly wonderful Caesar Weezer Wages. And this is him with my ideal Christmas scene…

But there was that one year, 1995 (I am pretty sure) where we had the horrible ice storm. We didn’t have heat so we all stayed at my Papa’s house Christmas eve. We were all a little bummed out, and knew that the next day would be totally different. We woke up and the roads had cleared enough where we could go home. At this point, I knew we would be walking into an empty house. I had accepted it, and it was ok. But when we walked in there where 3 HUGE suitcases filled will our presents!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I guess that was just a time where we were truly surprised by it. Any time I see a big yellow suitcase, my heart gets so happy thinking about that day and how big my eyes must have been. I will never forget that Christmas morning and hope one day I can make my kids just as happy as I felt on that day.

Now, I want to hear yours. You have until 9pm on the 14th to enter and the winner with a new giveaway will be announced on the 15th!

I have a wedding coming to the blog Monday so stay tuned for goodness. I am actually wrapping up 4 weddings that I am totally obsessed with so you have lots of love coming your way!

Lauren, send me a message with your address and I will get your DVDs in the mail!

Be Happy and Love each other.

  • Leigh Carl: My favorite Christmas gift (not to copy your response about Caesar Wages) was my sweet little bundle of puppy joy last year from the most wonderful fiancé in the world - my sweet little dachshund, Lillian Isabelle! I must confess, after watching one of the most wonderful shows on television - Modern Family - I always knew I wanted to name a child or a puppy "Lilly," whichever came first ;) Tyler knew that I had wanted a dog of my own for quite some time. My father had managed to claim my last dog, so I was depressed and needed more puppy love. I kept thinking the timing was off and I lived in an apartment so I didn't need a puppy. Growing up, my parents didn't allow an inside pet. I had lots of friends with precious animals inside that would sit in their laps, sleep with them, cuddle, love on them when they were sad... so I knew I had to have an animal like this. As a 24 year old, this seemed silly but I didn't care. One day, Tyler got in touch with a friend's mother who worked for a veterinarian. She suggested some clients with puppies for him to look at. It was Thanksgiving week, and a little before Christmas. But finally, Tyler found the perfect couple that loved on their puppies so much. He knew immediately that this was the family I would want a puppy from. One night, he surprised me and told me he was looking for a puppy and asked me to go with him! We went the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and I fell in love with the entire bunch. I got to pick out my sweet little Lilly and take her home as an early Christmas gift. I will always cherish this Christmas gift... she's the gift that keeps on bringing me joy every single year :) I am so thankful for her and my fiancé for being so giving and selfless on that Christmas. 12.10.2011 06:04pm
  • Sarah Johnson: Hey strangers :) Questions like this are too vague for me to think. When anyone has ever asked me this question, my mind goes blank. That must sound awful to some, but it's the exact opposite for me. I've definitely gotten some wonderful Christmas gifts, but every single one of them, big or small, reminds me of how incredibly blessed I am. God just overwhelms me with goodness every Christmas. Well...every day to be exact, but Christmas is definitely God's "I-love-you-super-blessing" day, for sure. With every gift that I open and every familiar face I see, it reminds me just how much life is such a gift. We all have seen ups and downs, and all of those have made me see just how much life is the greatest gift I could ever receive. To have the opportunity to be loved every day of my life in some form or fashion, and to be able to share that love I've received with everyone. Life is grand. But hey...did I mention that my fiance gave me my amazing ring for Christmas one year? That is pretty high up there. ;) 12.10.2011 11:39pm
  • erica: In the summer of 2005 Dathan & I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. That year, the week before Christmas, I started feeling a little... off. I couldn't put my finger on it, until I realized (on the 23rd) I was, well... late. We decided to wait until after Christmas before we took any kind of test, you know, give it a couple more days. Well we both woke up on Christmas Eve & couldn't wait any longer, so we ran to Target, bought a Clearblue pregnancy test, and ran home to take it. And on that day we saw a word on the test that would change our lives forever: "pregnant." There is something very special about finding out you are pregnant... even more special when it is your first child. So to have that be on Christmas Eve was like a special gift God gave us. We spent Christmas Day at my grandparent's house with lots of aunts, uncles, & cousins around. We wore name tags that said "mommy-to-be" and "daddy-to-be" and just waited until everyone noticed what they said. It was the first time in my life I had ever seen my grandma cry :) And you know what? Sean continued to be our gift. My first ultrasound just happened to be scheduled on my birthday. And the day he was born? Definitely our 2nd wedding anniversary. God was just having too much fun with us!!! 12.11.2011 02:24am
  • Bethany Oliver: At one point in time, I was the 5th Ninja Turtle. Talk about obsessed. Short little chuck of a child dressed in Michelangelo ninja turtle footie pi's. (If you beg a lot, I'll show you pictures.) When I turned 5 years old, I ran downstairs to discover a Ninja Turtle table with a pizza painted in the middle and a lime green camera that printed a ninja turtle figure in the bottom right hand corner, so when you got the negatives developed, they were legit. I took more pictures then than I've ever taken in my life. I definitely have to say, I think it started my interest in photography but it was definitely the best Christmas present by far. 12.11.2011 08:29pm
  • Jelle: For me the best gift that I have during Christmas was when our family was complete. I miss those holidays we're together. I looked back and remember the memories we had. 12.12.2011 05:24am
  • amanda holland: Last year, Chris gave me my most favorite Christmas gift of all! It was our dog bulldog George!! Best gift EVER!!!!!!! What a man. 12.12.2011 12:09pm
  • Deb Colston: Okay, here goes without question...... The best gift I ever received (so far) on Christmas was Christmas Day, December 25, 2005 after lunch when we had all finished with the ripping of paper and the squeals and laughter and thank yous all flying through the air. My parents and sister had come over from Tennessee to our house for Christmas that year and were celebrating with Mike, me and our beautiful children. We were all sitting around on the couches and recliners just relaxing after a wonderful lunch, when Mike looked at me and said that he had forgotten a Christmas gift. Well I thought it was one of his special gifts that he liked to get all by himself for one of our kids. However, in the next few moments, he crossed the room and was on his knees in front of me with a small box. As he opened the box, he said how much he loved me and loved being married to me for the past 25 years (through all the ups and downs) and would like to know if I would be willing to have him again in marriage for another 25 years or longer......He opened the box to reveal a ring holding 3 diamonds that represented our three children and the love that we had expressed poured out into their very lives. He did all of this with my parents and children all there as witnesses to the love that he proclaimed to me and requested of me once again and of course with tears streaming down my face, I said "YES!" and grabbed him so hard around the neck that his head could have popped. Yes, for me, this was the best Christmas gift ever........thus far. Thank you for allowing me to share this memory and to re-live it in my heart and mind as I shared it with you. Merry Christmas to you and Wes! You both hold a special place in my heart! Love you both deeply. 12.12.2011 12:26pm
  • Sara Estrada: The best Christmas gift ever was actually one given to my son. His grandfather gave him a toy car one year, you know, the kind kids climb in and drive around saying, "Vroom, vroom!" Anyway, we love playing in it together and before he "leaves' to pick up cookies he always tells me, "Mommy, I need hug. I be right back. I be careful!" Hands down best present ever. 12.12.2011 12:35pm
  • Jessica Williams: The best Christmas gift I have ever gotten hands down is the return of my husband from Afghanistan! This will be the first Christmas since we have been together that we will actually be together. :) 12.12.2011 12:48pm
  • Jessica Simpson: So, I read some of these amazing Christmas gifts in the comments before me and, I have to say, they are awesome! It's so hard for me to pick just one because I truly have been blessed with amazing friends and family in my life. One of my favorites, though, would have to be a silver heart necklace given to me by my aunt. I was so very close to my grandmother who passed away in 2004. My aunt, being the only daughter, got all of my grandmother's jewelry. So for Christmas that year, she gave me one of my grandmother's favorite necklaces and a sweet note that made me cry...of course! Although I can't choose an absolute favorite, this is definitely up there on my list! 12.12.2011 01:34pm
  • christie jones: Remember when Cabbage Kids were all the rage? No? Not around when you were a kid? I understand. I'm getting old. We'll, they were very popular when I was in kindergarten and it seemed everyone had one but me. Then Christmas came and I was never the same. Valerie, I think her name was. It was the best! 12.12.2011 02:58pm
  • Holly Widick: The best Christmas present I've ever received was actually intended for someone else. When I was a freshman in college, my boyfriend at the time asked me what I wanted for Christmas...to which i responded, " I really don't need anything and I cant really think of anything I'd want." So, he didn't get me anything. At first, i thought that he was just kidding, SURELY he got me something! All girls say they don't need anything! Instead, he hands me an envelope with a little paper angel inside. He knew that I was wanting to sponsor an Angel Tree kid for the holiday, so, he went & picked out a child for me. He set aside the money he would have used to buy me a gift & we went shopping together to create Christmas for a child in our community. Ever since, I have continued that tradition by doing similar things for my friends and family :) 12.12.2011 03:02pm
  • Linley Mobley: The best Christmas gift I've ever given is actually being given this year! My brother is in the Navy and he is out to sea right now so he isn't able to be with any family for Christmas. I got all of my family together and recorded them sending love and wishing him a "Merry Christmas." I took all the bits and pieces and made it into a video that we are sending him. Even though he can't be home for the holidays, at least he will be able to see our faces and know that we love him! 12.12.2011 05:13pm
  • Megan Stout: the year i went to india my mom gave me a special christmas morning in october. she did a little stocking for me and made sausage balls and we had Christmas music and the whole deal--it was so nice! AND she got me flip flops which lasted the whole year in india. which is pretty impressive ;) 12.13.2011 11:05am
  • Katie Mandrell: I think my favorite Christmas present is the one that I will be receiving this year. My parents are buying tickets to Disneyworld for me, my two sisters, my brother, my sister-in-law, my brother-in-law, my nephew and my grandmother. It'll be our first trip as a whole family in a really long time and I'm super excited! It's been hard for us to all spend time together because my brother and my brother-in-law are in the army and have been deployed during the holidays recently, but this year we'll all be together and in the happiest place on earth :) 12.14.2011 12:17am
  • Dusty Graham: My favorite Christmas Gift was an electric razor. Yes, an ELECTRIC RAZOR. The year was 1985, and I was 13 years old. My parents announced that year that each of us kids would only get ONE GIFT, and that our family would be helping a family IN NEED instead (with the rest of the usual ridiculous amount of Christmas Money.) I think I cried on Christmas morning... Probably because I was selfish, but most likely because I didn't have any facial hair to SHAVE yet.... ;) In hindsight, 26 years later,... this instilled in me a Heart that loves to Give, loves to help the unfortunate, loves to care for the downtrodden/less-fortunate. It was this simple Lesson by my parents, 26 years ago, that helped me to become who I am today. If I win the necklace, it is going to my Mother... As a THANK YOU for the lesson that she taught me on that Christmas morning. 12.14.2011 01:37pm
  • Leah Parker: My favorite gift that I've ever given was last year my mom, sister, & I bought my dad an ipad for Christmas. My dad is probably the most awesome person alive and always does things for everyone else, so we thought he needed something special for Christmas. On Christmas morning we made him wait last to open his gift & I think I was more excited for him than anything else. He opened it and was shocked and of course loved it...it's an ipad, come on. I was so happy we could do that for him. 12.14.2011 08:28pm
