Every once and a while I meet a bride, and I know that if we lived even within an hour of each other we would be best friends. Deborah is one of those brides. She has been close friend of two of my favorite brides and now it is her turn. When she emailed me, I leaped with excitement because I remember talking with her at Kelli & Spencer’s wedding last December. I remember just clicking with her in a way I don’t often do within 5 minutes.

Then she emailed me the details of her and Benji & their love… and of course, ya’ll know how I am, I fell even more in love. She described how she never thought she would fall in love with someone who is the opposite of her, he is country and she is city…. well, I’ll let you read what she said.

“We are complete opposites. I’m from Oxford, Mississippi, born in the city, artistic, played in the band, brainy, animal lover (even went on a Save the Trees protest rally on Ole Miss campus), love to chat to anyone, no athletic ability, etc. Benji on the other hand.. he is from Yazoo, Mississippi, football star, country boy, loves to hunt anything, super athletic and talented in anything he tries, really quiet and can sum anything you say into one or two word, etc. Never thought I would fall in love with my opposite, but opposites truly attract. The important things like our morals and strong belief in our faith are exactly the same.”

I love when people let me in on who they are. And she did. So we wanted to incorporate these differences into the shoot.

She chose Fort Payne, AL for it’s beautiful scenery, and I was not disappointed. I am dying to shoot there again. Gorgeous. The more Wes and I got to know these love birds the more excited I am for their road ahead.

Deb & Benj… here are a few of your shots. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we enjoyed taking them.

Can we please talk about how AMAZING Deborah’s ring is… Benji chose a yellow diamond as her center stone… He knows his bride is unique and so he gave her the perfect ring to match! Love it!

And I have to say… Delta State… you’ve never let us down. Deborah is now our 4th DSU bride, and we’ve  LOVED every single one of them- some of our top weddings ever. This year was a tough one for us… DSU and UNA are major rivals, and after we defeated ya’ll last year, you came back this year. It hurts a little. But Spencer & Benji… you will be proud of your okra… ya’ll stomped tail this past weekend. Congratulations. ;)

Be Happy & Love each other.

This year has been crazy. And I am thankful for so many things. Here is my brief list:

-Serving a God that get so much bigger to me every day… and finding a church family I belong to
-Being married to the most wonderful man on the face of the planet… and him being able to go full time with me
-Having the most wonderful family a girl could ask for (on both sides)…. and getting a new little boy addition
-Having a job that I am truly passionate about… not one that I dread every morning
-Living in a town that I love more than I ever thought I would… and having a house that I feel home in

The biggest thing I am thankful for this particular year is being able to travel the world with my mate and being able to use our passions to remember it by. Here is our video of our trip. I am obsessed with it. I can’t wait to be able to show it to my little girl and her be able to know how magnificently blessed she is to have two parents that a.) love each other and b.) follow their dreams around the world.

Oh, and of course… the last thing I am thankful for….

Happy Thanksgiving, from our home to yours.
Hope this year brings you something to stop and cherish.
Be Happy and Love each other.

Mary is with out a doubt a breathtaking bride. Stunning actually.

I love bridal sessions. I admit that I do. When I was engaged and debating on if I wanted to do a bridal, my first reaction was… No way! I don’t want photos of my self hanging everywhere. So the insecure me, opted out and didn’t do it. Now looking at the sessions I am apart of… why wouldn’t I want photos like this? This is the one time in your life that you get to feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Every time I post a bridal I have a little ounce of jealousy that these girls are able to have these beautiful photos of themselves forever. There daughters will one day look back on these photos and know that their mom was a woman of class… someone to aspire to. Love it.

Mary’s session is no exception to this jealousy. These photos are beautiful of her. Heath will cherish them forever.

I love this one.

Now, after writing this blog… I am inspired to do a session. Of myself. Yep. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Now if I can just stop drinking this eggnog and fit into my dress…. humm…

Be happy and love each other!

  • Shannon Wages: You should, T! You should get a new dress and do something on your anniversary next year, get Wes to take the pics (preferably on a beach or other tropical location)... 11.17.2010 10:50pm
  • Tera: Haha... I totally would... BUT, 3 months after we got married, I had a wild hair to put it on and well... dang zipper, must have been stuck ;) I was humiliated, so I have been scared to try since! But like I said, I need to put the eggnog & cookies & brownies & cake & additional chocolate sauce down, and get my booty in it! I think it will zip now, but I want it to zip perfect!!! Love you! 11.18.2010 02:09am
  • Jessica Magee: Please do it Tera!! I love your dress! 11.18.2010 02:11am
  • Mary Stackhouse: Thank you so much, Tera! You totally ought to do a bridal session for yourself! Everything you said in your blog post is true -- every bride deserves to feel that way. Thank you sooo much for posting these! You and Wes do such an amazing job. I will treasure all the pictures y'all have taken! 11.18.2010 04:36am
  • Megan Stein: Mary is beautiful, everything- dress, hair, makeup... great job T! I love love love these! 11.18.2010 05:52pm
  • Nikki Childers: Hello, You just did some photos for my brother and his family. The Turks in Ecru,MS. I thought they were wonderful. I was wanting to get an idea of price ranges for my boyfriend and myself for a photo session. If you could email me your packages that would be great. Thank You. Happy Holidays. Nikki Childers 11.23.2010 09:19am
  • Brianna: You are too TOO precious. The Bridal session is GORGEOUS, and I TOTALLY agree with Shannon the YOU should definitely do your own session. You deserve it!!! 11.23.2010 08:14pm

Lauren, Reggie. It was awesome. The entire day. Reggie you are a lucky man- I hope you never forget that. But Lauren, I have learned recently, you got pretty lucky yourself. Sharing in this experience was something that is very special to me. Thanks for letting us be apart of it.

Yep, for those of you just tuning in… Lauren is my best friend. That is me.

I love this shot because it really shows the essence of the ceremony. Lauren has always been more of a humble person, not wanting all eyes on her… and getting to know Reggie, I think he is the same way. They wanted something intimate. I loved how she planned to achieve that. It was beautiful.

Two of my favorite ladies in the world. They both have pieces of my heart.

I LOVE the location Lauren chose for her reception. It is the Lumberyard in Huntsville. It was so antique and had so much character! Perfect!

Magnificent!

I have to add to this… obviously I had other roles on this day, so Wes Wages stepped up and shot 90% of this blog. He is amazing. People think I am the photographer, and he assists of does video… but I hope this shows the opposite. I have married one talented man.

Thank you for being an amazing partner!

Be Happy and Love each other.

  • Alisha Bondarenko: What a pretty fall wedding. I love the colors and am a little jealous of the boutonnieres ; ) They're so unique and neat! Beautiful wedding, Lauren. Tera, I am glad that you gave the name of this location. I was going to ask because it reminded me a little bit of the winery where Alex and I got married. Great location. 11.12.2010 10:20pm
  • Benita Logsdon: What a beautiful wedding! I was married in the fall, also. The colors are just beautiful this time of year. Tera and Wes, you are such talented, wonderful people. You are on my list whenever my beautiful Rebecca finds the mate God has picked for her! 11.12.2010 10:28pm

Lauren. You are absolutely beautiful. Inside and out. You are the best friend I have ever had. Being there through everything- literally everything. We experienced 5th grade drama, 7th grade cliches, 9th grade awkwardness, 12th grade celebration, college confusion and heartbreaks… you have been there. You never left me. Haha. Like you had a choice ;)

So I never gave you a proper toast… haha… and I realized yesterday your card from me is in my room. So here it is.

I love you so much. Thank you for talking to me in your sleep, wake up with me at 2am to go get a french vanilla, sleeping with me in the hallway, and singing all the wrong words to every song that ever came on. Thanks for running through best buy and playing our “game”, thanks for keeping me focused on what is important. Thanks for standing next to me when I married my love and really making it special. Thanks for eating ricks barbeque with me whenever I wanted. It is sooo good.  Thanks for recognizing me that night- knowing that it was me, and caring that I was with you. We are sisters. You have brown hair and good eyebrows, and I have pale skin, but I will be with you for the rest of our lives. We will have double chins and crows feet together. ;)

I love you. And I love Reggie. And I love the two of you together. Congratulations on happiness. I hope the two of you dance in your undies on your couch. And I hope you laugh a lot. I have a feeling you will.

You are beautiful Lauren.

Wedding blog is next!!! I LOVE YOU!
Be happy & love each other!
